Donation Made Easy
- Donating to the Food Bank can be easy and inexpensive
- Did you know that most of our local grocery stores have collection bins by the checkouts?
Easy as 1, 2, 3
- Determine how much you can spend for the Food Bank
- Look for sale items that the Food Bank could use
- Purchase the items and place in the collection bins at the checkout
Bonus for you – You will often save money on your own groceries by checking sale items and becoming a wiser shopper.
How much will $1.00 buy for the Food Bank? When items are on sale you could buy:
- 4 cans pork & beans
- 4 rolls of toilet paper
- 1 jar of Jelly
- 4 boxes macaroni & cheese
- 2 cans of applesauce
- 1 jar of spaghetti sauce
- 3 cans of vegetables
- 1 can of chili
- 2 cans of soup
- 4 cans of tuna
Fun and Learning for Your Children:
- Tell your children about the Food Bank (maybe bring them over for a tour)
- Give them $0.50 or more to spend at the grocery store and see how many items they can buy for the Food Bank with their money
Result:
