How to Donate

Donation Made Easy

  • Donating to the Food Bank can be easy and inexpensive
  • Did you know that most of our local grocery stores have collection bins by the checkouts?

Easy as 1, 2, 3

  1. Determine how much you can spend for the Food Bank
  2. Look for sale items that the Food Bank could use
  3. Purchase the items and place in the collection bins at the checkout

Bonus for you – You will often save money on your own groceries by checking sale items and becoming a wiser shopper.

How much will $1.00 buy for the Food Bank?  When items are on sale you could buy:

  • 4 cans pork & beans
  • 4 rolls of toilet paper
  • 1 jar of Jelly
  • 4 boxes macaroni & cheese
  • 2 cans of applesauce
  • 1 jar of spaghetti sauce
  • 3 cans of vegetables
  • 1 can of chili
  • 2 cans of soup
  • 4 cans of tuna

Fun and Learning for Your Children:

  • Tell your children about the Food Bank (maybe bring them over for a tour)
  • Give them $0.50 or more to spend at the grocery store and see how many items they can buy for the Food Bank with their money

Result:

  • Help for hungry families and Children are learning to be wise shoppers, the value of money, and to help others!
