Volunteer Opportunities:

    Most Needed and Current Volunteer Oppportunity
    Morning Warehouse Cleaning:
    Everyday the Food Bank prepares for the public by sweeping and mopping the floors in our warehouse. It is an integral piece of our operations as we strive to maintain a friendly, clean, inviting atmosphere for those who visit us. We could use a little extra help with this specific task and if you don’t mind pushing a broom or a mop then this job is for you!

    1-2 hours Monday-Friday (you can do just one day, or as may days as you would like)

  • Become a regular weekday volunteer!  Shifts are available Monday through Friday between 9 am and 4 pm in 2 or 3 hour sessions (sorry no weekend opportunities).  Regular volunteers perform all the necessary daily tasks required to prepare for and distribute food to households requesting assistance.  This includes:  sorting and accepting donations, stocking shelves, repackaging bulk foods, preparing food boxes, doing dishes, mopping floors, driving, and warehouse organization.
  • Become an on-call volunteer!  Can’t commit to a shift every week? Register to become an on-call volunteer for times you may be avialable when our regular volunteers cannot make thier shifts.  We will place you on a list and call you at a time when a need arises.  You may or may not be able to help when we call, but we will keep you on our list either way.  We have a special need for on-call volunteers throughout the holiday season.
  • Volunteer for our Summer Lunch Program!  Only have extra time during the summer months?  Volunteer to help the Food Bank prepare and distribute lunches to more than 200 children per day throughout the months of June, July and August.
  • Volunteer in our Garden! Do you love to garden or just like being outside getting dirty?  The Food Bank has 12 raised beds during the summer months where volunteers help to plant, maintain, and harvest fresh produce that is distributed to families in need.   
  • Volunteer to help during special events and/or fundraisers!  Be placed on our on-call list for help during any or all of our annual events including food drives and fundraisers.

Volunteer Orientation:

We offer a volunteer orientation on a regular basis for new volunteers or persons interested in volunteering.  Please contact the Food Bank for the date and time of the next volunteer orientation or submit the above volunteer registration form and we will contact you with orientation information.
